Missionary to Lead New West Wisconsin Charge at Hixton
The Rev. Ivan L. Snyder, pastor of several Fairfield area churches, will transfer to the West Wisconsin conference to work on a federation plan in Hixton Wisconsin. He will also serve Sechlerville with the Hixton charge, moving from Routerville this week. Snyder is a Dickinson and Drew graduate and holds memberships in several associations. Bishop Berry approved the assignment.

Handsome refectory nears completion at Gettysburg seminary
The handsome new ten thousand dollar refectory at the Theological Seminary in Gettysburg is nearly finished. Brick and brown stone structure designed by J A Dempwolf of York features a large first floor dining hall with seating for 120, a model kitchen, refrigerator room, basement, and living quarters on the second floor. Students currently dine in three basement rooms until the hall is ready, with provisions paid under a club plan.

Emanuel Diller long time toll keeper dies at 80
Emanuel Diller of Hanover died at his home Monday November 28 at age 80 years 3 months and 1 day. He leaves one sister Eliza Diller with whom he resided. He served 28 years as toll gate keeper for the McSherrystown and Hanover Turnpike Company resigning three years ago due to ill health. Funeral Thursday December 1 at 10 a m at his house with Rev A M Heilman of St Matthew's Lutheran church officiating, interment Mt Olivet cemetery.

Funeral for Roy Newman Burns to Death at Age Three
Roy Newman died early Sunday after clothes caught fire while he played at his grandfather Amos Slaybaugh’s home in Upper Bermudian. His mother extinguished the flames, but he died at 10 a.m. Sunday. Surgeons Myers and Cashman treated him in York Springs. If he had lived, he would have turned four on December 5. The family receives heartfelt sympathy.

Deer Bucks Seen In Late Season Hunt
Elmer Shockey of Beartown bagged a 190 pound 10 prong buck near Bailey dam, one of the season’s largest. J Roy Bushman shot a 125 pound two prong buck in Fall ing Spring. Charles Woodward, near Arendtsville, claimed a 185 pound two prong buck on South Mountain, his seventh deer in eight years.

Freshmen Win Debatable Victory Over Sophomores 17 to 2
Freshmen beat Sophomores 17 to 2 on a muddy field in a game watched by Adams County teachers. Three Freshmen touchdowns came from a recovered kick, an intercepted pass, and a fumble, with Myers adding valuable punting. Sophomores score on a safety after a punt return miscue.
