Sandy Project Faces Loss Of Planning Parties Soon
Sandy Creek Conservation District chairman Harral Allen reported that Soil Conservation Service planning parties will withdraw from the Sandy Creek watershed unless easements are obtained within ten days. Six sites lack only one or two signatures and could be kept if cleared, enabling construction in fiscal 1959. Plans on ten sites are complete and will be bid before July 1, 1959, with bids invited by legal advertisement and written communications to the district.

Nance Named Pontotoc County Teacher of the Year

The Underhill home of Mr and Mrs Hagan Underhill burned on Tuesday afternoon September 16. Mrs Underhill was alone in the house when the fire started. The Stonewall Fire Department responded and firefighters saved most of the living room furniture and personal items.
