Exhibits Expected To Overflow Pontotoc County Fair

The 43rd Pontotoc County Fair opens Monday with seven barns expected to fill and some exhibits placed outside. State surveys two watershed projects in Pontotoc County

A state financed six man planning party moves into 523 East Main Street to survey Middle Clear Boggy and Leader Creek flood control areas. The team will compile field data for federal review, with Middle Clear expected to finish in a week and then shift to Upper Blue River.

Land Bank Loans Exceed Mark of Those Dirty 30s

Officials of the Federal Land Bank System compare this year’s record loan volume to the 1930s. Acting director Ralph E. Nowlan says farmers borrowed over 574 million to fund operations, noting a shift from refinancing to productive use.

McLish School Names Officers for 1959 60

McLish announces the election of class officers for the 1959 60 school year. Fittstown Reunion Ties Fifty Year Classmates

Er nest Henson and Claibourne Bennett, former schoolmates of 50 years, reconnected after Tulsa visitors, hosted by Mr and Mrs H C Bennett. The reunion stemmed from Thomas Jefferson Peace, a longtime Pauls Valley teacher, organizing a state wide invitation.
