Dozer Operator Uncovers Skeleton Near Owl Creek
An unidentified human skeleton was unearthed by a bulldozer operator near Owl Creek, about 10 miles southeast of Ada. Joe Kent Abbott reported the find to sheriff's deputies who investigated, with Undersheriff Eden stating the skeleton would be tested to determine its age and that it lay far from any cemetery.

A local Appaloosa show at Seminole County Free Fair in We Woka Monday night saw Navajo Britches Thunder take reserve grand champion stallion, owned by Max Thomas of Stonewall, while grand champion honors went to Navajo Britches owned by Bill and Phyllis Hudson of Shawnee. Army Reserve expands Ada center parking space

Landowners Expand Drainage Efforts to Halt Erosion
An upsurge in watershed activity in the county has doubled drainage conservation work by ranchers and farmers. Kenneth Yoakum of the Soil Conservation Service notes Sandy Creek flood problems eased by cooperative ditching and flood-control structures. He says many landowners now see the benefit and are conserving land through drainage channels. A recent M-acre project on Gilbert Montgomery land near Ada, four miles northwest, leased by Garland Morris, involved five ditches and five lateral channels to drain a cultivated field.

City and County Officers Probe Two Burglaries
Ada police investigate two burglaries in Ada in the early hours. Martin Marietta Co. offices at 1001 West Eighteenth were entered through a north window, a safe opened with plant tools, about 200 dollars stolen.
