The Roff Extension Homemakers Group met September 3 at the clubhouse to select fair exhibits. Members prepared entries and arranged a booth at the Women’s Center for public viewing. the Country Store was run by Mary Lase man. The group will meet September 19 at Mrs. Joyce Tyree’s home for a program on kitchen storage by Mrs. Jinks.

Snow White Skunk Shot by Holiday Visitors in Stonewall
In Stonewall near the Methodist Church a snow white skunk was seen on a garden fence. Mr. Burkhart fired a 22 rifle at the animal as Mr. and Mrs. Stegall and Isabelle Stegall with others watched, mistaking it for a white cat. The scene ended with the group reacting to the rare sight.

Supervisors Approve Conservation Plans in Pontotoc Meeting
Pontotoc County Soil and Water Conservation District supervisors met September 8 at the Soil Conservation Office. Plans approved cover farms in Ada and Stonewall, with projects including hairy vetch and rye on Bermuda, a 20 foot deep pond engineered by the SCS, and several pasture and timberland improvements.

Goose Hunters Urged to Apply for Tish Refuge Oct 15 1969
The Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge invites goose and duck hunters to apply by October 15, 1969. Applications may designate three hunting dates, with drawings if demand exceeds blinds. Goose season runs November 1, 1969 to January 4, 1970. duck season October 25 to November 11 and December 20, 1969 to January 4, 1970.

ASC Election Ballots Must Be Certified

Mrs Baylis Outwits Wasps With Chain And Wagon
Mrs Baylis faced a red wasp nest in a pipe near the stock pen. She doused the nest with gasoline, then tied a chain to the pipe and the station wagon door, rolled away with the window up, and left the wasps in the pasture.

The McLish Extension Home makers Group met in the home economics room at McLish School for its monthly session. Lanny Bates of Ada and Jack Sanders of Roff were honored at the 4 H record book judging at Oklahoma State University. Sanders earned a $50 Folgers bond plus a $25 bond from a trio of Oklahoma utility companies. Bates received a $25 bond from C R Anthony Company.
