Union Hill Pupils Dine Hot Lunch From School Kitchen
Union Hill School students no longer skip breakfast to pocket meals. Since October 1 they have been marching to the lunchroom and dining hot lunches prepared by Mrs Daisy Golden. Nearly 40 pupils now enjoy the hot meals, a result of cooperative effort by teachers and parents as the teacherage was converted into a lunchroom.

Fifth Annual Homecoming Attracts Oakman crowd
The fifth annual homecoming drew about 200 people to Oakman community church on Sunday October 21 with services at 930 am. Special prayers were offered for Mrs. Jim Berryman of Esteline Texas who is seriously ill. A community lunch followed the service with beverages supplied by the Oakman Quilting Club. George Carter served as master of ceremonies guiding group singing directed by John Berryman with solos by Ada singers Joe Koper Lee Eppler M. Caton and J M Nance provided accompaniment and welcome. Special guests included 95 year old Mrs Janie Myrick of Holdenville and Mother Kellogg of Francis.

Robert Leroy Harper 52 of Red Vale Colorado died October 17 at a Sulphur hospital. Funeral was held Saturday at Lightning Ridge cemetery. Survived by wife Rosa Belle. daughters Alpha Ray Hunt Hart Silena Jane Love Naturita Cole and Mattie Ann Southerland Red Vale. sons Walter Earl Tommie Howard Lloyd Allen Red Vale and Robert Merid U S Army in New Jersey. brothers Noah Missouri and Cecil Colorado. sisters Allie East Dawson Nancy Nichols Bayfield and Rita Head Poplar Bluff. Former Hart residents, the family had lived here before moving to Colorado. Hart Home Remonstration Club served lunch at a daughter’s home.
