Commission Report Lashes Federal Civil Rights Efforts
The U S Commission on Civil Rights denounces federal leadership on civil rights saying enforcement has been weak across hiring housing and contracts. The 111 page study faults budgets staff shortages and reluctance to use sanctions and urges a nationwide drive for equitable representation and stronger enforcement across agencies. The report praises some successes but calls for immediate action and broader department accountability.
