Latta School crowned Elinor Tilley as high school queen and Joyce Byers as grade school queen during a carnival that supported the school activity fund. Penguin Type Pickup Submerges In County Stock Pond
Wilson reports tell of a pickup driven by Billy Hooser that ran into a stock pond while chasing a dog. The truck remained in gear with a dead engine, later hauled out by a farm tractor and cleaned at an Ada garage this week. Gerald Price and family witnessed the rescue.

Women attend a free adult homemaking class at Vaness High School in the Home Ec cottage. Led by Mrs. Kenneth Hardin and the vocational home economics department, six sessions run Thursdays 7 to 9 p.m. from October 7 through November 11, covering decorating, color schemes, fabrics, and clothing construction.
