Pleasant Hill Community Builds A Church Granted
Pleasant Hill Methodists raise a new church with self supplied labor and local support. Rev W H Anderson helped start the Pleasant Hill Church after a revival at Yellow Springs and services at the Pleasant Hill School building. Membership grew from 27 to 32 as funds and effort pooled to finish the project.

Farmers Keep Wheat Acreage Despite Limited Allotment
The ASC office reports farmers have not relinquished wheat acreage. County allotment is about 650 acres but winter wheat appears a strong prospect for fall and winter pasture as recent rains enable cultivation and germination and raise interest in wheat. Planting was minimal before the recent rains.

Pontotoc County Home Demonstration Council members met with County HD Agent Martha Mote to finalize plans for the annual program planning session set for October 15 in the American Legion Hut. District HD agent Miss Pearl Winterfeldt will attend and speak on Why Home Demonstration, with registration at 10 a.m. Allen club members hostesses and Fitzhugh club in charge of the program.

Larimer Named As Hotel Head In Ada
H C Larimer became manager of the Aldridge Hotel Ada replacing Carl Daniels who returned to North Carolina. Larimer, a Navy World War II veteran from Kansas, previously managed Hotel Wah Konsa in Fort Dodge Iowa and comes from Fitzhugh. In a separate note Millstead survived a tractor accident when the machine slipped into a creek trapping him for hours until neighbors and a county truck with winch freed him. He suffered lacerations but is recovering at home. The driver of the car that took him to the hospital was not identified.
