Gin Burns At Stonewall Fire Destroys Local Cotton Gin
Fire swept the Stonewall cotton gin early Friday morning, Sept 28, destroying the building and causing an estimated $40,000 in losses including seven bales of cotton and cottonseed. Fire chief Jack Eden and the Stonewall Fire Department saved the engine room and cotton house. The gin, owned by Texhoma Glas, Inc., Fort Worth, was one of two in Pontotoc County. the fire started in the seed house and the cause remains undetermined. Frank F. Harper of Tarzana, California, reported the fire after being awakened by its glow while visiting relatives nearby.

FRISCO The Forehands and Stegalls report a recurring visitor in their coop. Bantams disappeared and bantam fryers were eaten overnight. The Stegalls and their son Schley tried to trap the raider while the chickens squawked through the night. The intruder remains at large.

Drouth Drives Frisco Family to Dallas for Water
Mr. and Mrs. W R Robbins plan to move to Dallas for the winter after both wells dried up. Mrs Robbins said three draws only yielded one bucket of water and the pump stopped working. Robbins stays in Dallas this week. the family will enroll Stephens in a Dallas high school and Robbins will sell stock, hoping rain restores water before spring so they can return.
