The Choctaw and Chickasaw treaty bars new leases of mining lands on Indian territory. Porter, accused of killing Dillard Wright near Allen, was held without bail after an examining trial at Talbott court. The incident happened at Lucy Harjo’s home during an interpreter’s visit.
