4-H Meat Judging Team Wins at American Royal KC

Pontotoc County 4-H meat judging team placed first at the American Royal in Kansas City Missouri. Diana Duffer from Ada High School was high individual scorer while Cindy Turner of Latta High School placed second. James Whelchel of McLish finished tenth. The team also dominated park judging retail identification and total contest points under coach Bob Woods, totaling 19038 points.

Natural fiber demand fades in U S markets

The Agriculture Department reports a softening outlook for natural fibers as domestic textile activity slows. Cotton prices rose to about 80 cents per pound, wool averaged 77 cents last month, with modest gains expected through spring. Despite higher farm prices, weaker consumer demand and investment risks limit gains for 1976.
