State Vet Warns Stockmen Bangs Certification Is Coming
Oklahoma cattlemen heard that the county will seek Bangs free certification and must act now. Dr. M N Riemenschneider urged readiness as Bangs disease remains a top bovine problem. The talk covered testing, sale of reactors, and calf vaccination with dairy cattle at four months and beef cattle at four to twelve months.

Annual Blairs production sale clears 46 head for 31560
In a 16 year effort the Blairs held their first production sale drawing 300 buyers. A total of 46 Polled Hereford cattle sold for 31460 dollars with an average of 683.91. Top price went to Domestic B Mischief 11th at 5575 dollars sold to H. H. Stock Farm Hollister Mo. Winnie B Woodrow 1st heifer brought 1500 dollars bought by Otho Grimes Tulsa.

The Blairs dominated Oklahoma Polled Hereford results with a top sale this year as buyers from six states including Texas Missouri Colorado Nebraska and New Mexico participated. Jimmie Thomas of the Thomas Ranch Ada bought three lots C C Buxton Horseshoe Ranch took a top bull Elwood Kingery Ada purchased Blair heifers. The Blairs began in 1939 with one bull and five heifers andbuilt a growing herd through steady breeding.
