W. D. Maggard received a thirty year sentence from Judge Orel Busby for robbery with firearms in Ada Pontotoc County. In Tishomingo on April 28 a district court jury acquitted Will Watterson of the 22 year old killing of his father in law James W. Duncan. Watterson, paroled from a Nevada prison last year, was lauded by jurors as they left. Officials doubt he will return to Nevada to serve remaining term.
