Oklahoma District Judge halts Lake Texoma fishing halt
MADILL The eight member Wildlife Commission ordered a six week commercial fishing ban on Lake Texoma from April 18 to May 31 to protect exotic brood stock during spawning. A District Judge issued a restraining order blocking wildlife Rangers from enforcing the halt pending a May 8 hearing.

The sheriff reports two car thefts occurring after midnight. At 12 10 a m a 1968 Ford was taken from Leftys Truck Stop in Ada. At 12 45 a m a 1966 Pontiac convertible was taken from the Alamo Motel on North Broadway. Investigating officers reported both thefts this morning.

Children find mother lode as dirt mounds yield cash bonanza
In Fort Worth a schoolyard dig turned into a money rush after a crumpled 20 bill appeared on a dirt pile.
