Briles Foundation Fund Reaches 228612 53 Cash For Student Loans
The Briles Educational Foundation Fund totals 228612 53 in cash with an additional 80000 held by two executors awaiting tax clearance. East Central State College students may borrow from the fund to support education. Executors are Elizabeth Cox Lynn and Dr. Charles F. Spencer, who also turned property into cash. A dinner honored the late C W Briles and Mrs Briles, with a check presented to Benton Browning of The First National Bank Ada. Board members include Dr. Spencer Norman Mitchell and Fred Andrews.

About 130 4H boys from 20 clubs competed at Washington School Ada in four clothing classes to show judgment in selection and wear. Doug Stinson Galey named grand champion in dress wear with Paul McCurdy Roff as reserve in sports outfit. Howard Sliger Vanoss and Tommy Myers Galey won casual school wear and sportswear for school respectively.

The Ada northwest sale grossed 322881 on Saturday with 221 horses sold. High seller Nelly Bars brought 20000 to Harvey Pelter of Thibodaux La. Many bidders from over 20 states attended as plans call for 250 registered Appaloosas next sale.

Busbys sue over chemical spill from truck wreck
A $25 000 District Court suit filed by Phillip Busby, Hope Busby, and Orel Busby accuses Great Western Motor Lines of releasing 2 600 gallons of chemicals into streams feeding stock ponds on the Busby ranch after a jackknifed truck on SH12. The shipment originated near Sugarland, Texas, en route to northern Oklahoma.
