Ada resident Lee R. West delivered the eight thousandth soil sample to Pontotoc County Soil Lab on Tuesday. The lab, opened in 1950 by First National Bank and Trust, charges a small fee to cover operations. Bond Issue To Improve Byng Schools In 1966
Byng residents will vote on a 30000 bond issue March 23 to improve the Byng School District. Funds will add a 50 by 100 foot auto mechanics shop with office classroom tool room showers and lockers plus an extra high school classroom and more restrooms.

Dress Revue Set For March 23 At East Central State
The 4H girls Dress Revue will be held March 23 at the East Central State College Ballroom with judging at 9 30 a.m. and the contest ending by noon. Classes cover year by year outfits from headscarves to wool dresses with styling sessions after each class. Blue Red and White awards will be given in each class, a class Champion named, and the top ten percent awarded a dress revue medal. The senior grand champion will go to Stillwater for the state dress revue in May. Murray Bull Sale Planned for March 20 at Murray College
The tenth annual Murray College Bull Sale is set for March 20 at the college in Tishomingo. All consignments are performance tested for rapid gains and efficient feed conversion. Bulls must be registered, weigh 475 pounds at 205 days on test, and have a weight per day of age of 2.4. Weights are certified by the Extension Service with Oklahoma Cattle Improvement Association. The sale starts at noon in the college sale arena. Consigned are 39 Herefords and seven rolled Herefords.

Season On Trout Opens March 20 On Illinois River
Governor signs bill enabling trout season on Illinois River below Lake Tenkiller dam to start March 20 at 5 am. The river from the dam to the Arkansas confluence is a designated trout stream under regulations. About a ton of Rainbow trout were stocked from Neosho Missouri. A special trout license is required for all anglers, available around March 15. Dealers will receive books of ten licenses at a set cost.
