Regents Approve Record Budget for Oklahoma Colleges
The Oklahoma Board of Regents approved a total budget of 87.9 million for 25 state colleges and universities, a 17.4 percent rise from last year. East Central State College will receive 2.1 million, ranking sixth behind OU, OSU, Central State, Northeastern, and Southwestern. Donald S. Kennedy, OFG&EC chairman, named president of the regents, starting July 1 for one year.

Hunting and fishing licenses top $139 million in 1966 sales
United States hunters and anglers spent over 139 million dollars for 42 million licenses and stamps in the year ending June 30 1966. Interior Department notes licenses declined slightly from the prior year though fishing permits rose to a record cost of over 64 million dollars. Oklahoma issued 301 160 licenses with 3299 to out of staters.

Ada Wins Federal Grant for Downtown Parking Project
Ada receives a 444 500 grant from the Economic Development Administration to develop four off street parking lots behind East and West Main in downtown Ada. The project would provide 412 parking spaces, be hard surfaced and landscaped with restrooms and a waiting area.
