The Pontotoc County Poultry Association will hold its next regular meeting in the Chamber of Commerce rooms Ada on Thursday evening July 6 at 8 o'clock. All poultry breeders are invited to attend.

Congressman McKown speaks at 11 a m and Senator Owen at 8 p m. Ford's lake picnic runs July 3 and 4 with swimming and free ice water.
In Louisville area a 16 year old girl Sarah Connolly was killed by William Zinsmeister who also killed his 15 year old daughter Mamie and wounded three other teens before shooting himself. Zinsmeister fired more than 15 shots leaving 62 cartridges at his side. Connolly fell into the river and was not recovered.
Citizens committee remains silent after a conference with Gov. Brandon on the Tuskegee veterans hospital dispute. Senator Heflin suggested possible injunction action. Racial tension grows with white residents claiming control and opposing black medical staff. several black dentists and doctors are expected to arrive soon to staff the facility.
Three hours after George McClain took a neighbor's steer and sold it to a local butcher he was jailed in Idabel under a six year penitentiary sentence for larceny of livestock. A brief district court hearing heard evidence and testimony before the steer could be led back to its pasture.
Gov. Walton imposes martial law in Okmulgee county after months of mob and deputy sheriff abuses. National Guard units arrive from Tulsa Oklahoma City and Muskogee to enforce order while cenrtral state counties face similar threats. Grand jury called for Anadarko July 9 to probe outrages.

Two men, M J O Neal and J H Shrader, face murder charges for the shooting death of Walter Floyd city marshal of Roff Oklahoma. A two day court of inquiry before County Attorney J W Dean heard twenty witnesses and no preliminary date set. Floyd died Sunday after being wounded in the clash, with reports of rival factions and rumors surrounding the case.
Six killed and over forty injured when a two car elevated train plunges from the Brayn Manhattan Transit trestle at Fifth and Flatbush Avenues in Brooklyn. Witnesses report mechanical failure on the leading car causing the plunge and dragging the second car down. The crash also topples part of the trestle and sparks a fire among wrecked wooden cars. Firefighters quell the blaze amid panicked passengers.
