Elbert Thomas an 18 year old boy preacher drowned Monday afternoon in Boggy Creek near Ada 12 miles southeast. He could not swim and was swept under by the uneven stream bed. A rescue party recovered the body after about one hour of searching. Burial planned at Frisco with services this afternoon.
Over fifty delegates from throughout Oklahoma organized a Ford for president movement in Oklahoma City with O. A. Brewer as chair and Campbell Russell welcoming delegates. The group vows grass roots county organizing while praising Ford's pacifist stance and labor ties amid remarks on his world court idea.
In Winnsboro Texas on June 20 W K Bradford killed Mr C C Chapman and Mrs Chapman with a shotgun then took his own life. The couple’s son in law was a banking official J L Chapman. Mrs Bradford heard the shots and found the bodies. Bradford and family had moved from Farmersville two months earlier.
