John Robert Pond of Joplin Missouri pled guilty to speeding at night and paid a $15 fine plus court costs assessed by Peace Justice Wilbur P Lee. He was arrested three miles west of Ada on SH 13 by State Trooper Aubrey Mitchell after dark traveling at 70 mph.

Elzie Duty veteran mail carrier dies at 62
Elzie Duty 62 a veteran mail carrier who served between Ada and Tishomingo for 28 years died Friday June 21 in a Norman hospital. Services were Sunday at Pontotoc church with burial in Pontotoc cemetery. Surviving are his wife Beulah of Chickasha, sisters Mamie Compton Guthrie Mattie Hawkins Sapulpa Nora Gibson Seminole Fannie Stalcup Ada Josie Updegraf Lishomingo brothers Skeet Coalgate Richard Stratford and five grandchildren.

Gary defends naming of Dunning to Soil Conservation Board
