Brakeman killed as engine strikes storm sewer site
Oklahoma City June 26 Robert R Whittan head brakeman of a Rock Island freight train was killed when thrown from the pilot as the engine passed over a new storm sewer on Hudson street. The sewer work left girders under rails now removed, causing the front of the engine to drop and the brakeman to be crushed.
