Tragedy at Roff as Mother Kills Daughter Then Attempts Self
In Roff a 17 year old girl Mamie Thomas dies from a gunshot fired by her mother who then wounds herself. The household doors were locked and a 41 caliber derringer with four shells found beside the bodies. Mrs. Thomas appeared mentally ill and left two letters for her husband and mother. Joe L. Thomas, a Chickasaw stockman and former sheriff candidate, is left grieving as detectives view the scene. Deputy Marshal Ed Brents aided at the scene overnight.
