The Ada area reported highs near 100 degrees with Beaver reaching a record 109 and Geary in Blaine County hitting 100. Northern Oklahoma faced slight relief with near term thundershowers. some towns faced water outages as pumps burned out and city service was restored later.
More than 5,000 Pennsylvania Republicans will dine at $100 a plate unity dinners in Philadelphia and Harrisburg. The events aim to raise upwards of $400,000 for the November presidential and state campaigns in Pennsylvania.

Tony and Dave Tanner pleaded guilty in district court to kidnapping. They were captured in Anthony Kansas after an alarm from Johnston County Sheriff Everett Stewart. Judge W J Monroe sentenced them to five years hard labor in McAlester State Penitentiary. Arthur Stratton, Wapanucka city marshal, was disarmed during the incident. Additional charges of burglary and auto theft are pending in Pawnee.
Smiling Max Conrad landed on Stornoway in the Hebrides completing a Atlantic crossing in a small Piper Cub. The goodwill flight carried invitations to Scandinavian mayors for the Minneapolis Aquatennial in July 1827, following a four hour hop from Keflavik Iceland.

The 105 Grill was burglarized at midnight when Officer Teel was arrested nearby. Police say Killes Delton Teel, 27, had $27.72 in cash and merchandise in his possession. Entry was gained through a rear window, which was broken out and used to exit. Chief Cecil Smith called the arrest the fastest in months.
Oklahoma City stockyards report a surge of cattle and calves this week with prices sliding. Total shipments hit 11 015 cattle and 1 028 calves, beef and cattle values sagging as much as 10 cents per pound. Analysts blame expanded herds, high feed costs, and postponement of finishing cattle.
Sheppard W. King and his 18 year old sister Patricia plan a court battle to overturn their mother’s will and divide a 21.5 million dollar estate equally. King says they want prompt access to oil royalties and other properties rather than waiting years. The will filed for probate leaves King one fourth and Patricia three fourths.
On the second day of a three day recess in Korea, Panmunjom reported no official word from the Communists or requests for liaison officer meetings. Allied liaison officers had met daily during a previous recess.
Pontotoc County seeks 200 donors for the Red Cross Bloodmobile visit at the First Christian Church on June 24 from noon to 6 PM. Only 110 donors have volunteered. 150 pints are needed. Recruitment continues with teams at the cement plant and coordinators in Allen and Fittstown.
Washington officials say the government will end its year 2 to 3 billion dollars better off than expected, with the deficit likely under 6 billion and possibly as low as 13 billion. Neff of Memorial Christian Church officiating. Survivors include Mrs. Emil Wyatt of Ada and Mrs. Coss the widow plus two other daughters. Mr. Cass had visited Ada several times.
Oklahoma City Attorney General Mac Q Williamson approved bond issues totaling 65 000 for limestone Gap near Atoka and Dickson School near Ardmore. Limestone Gap can spend 7000 on transportation equipment 23000 for site building and equipment and Dickson will spend 35000 for a building.
Life Insurance Agency Management Association reports Americans bought 18 percent more life insurance in the latest month than in May 1951. Total policies purchased reached 2.803 billion dollars versus 2.384 billion a year earlier.
U N and Allied forces repelled repeated Red assaults in east central Korea near Chorwon and Kumsong. About 200 Communist troops were killed as air aided units held the forward position, with fighting centered on a rocky ridge and a T shaped hill mass. Ground actions continued with artillery and small arms exchanges and air strikes against dug in Reds.
Judy Diane Schoonover, 13, daughter of Clyde and Mrs Schoonover of 807 West Thirteenth, was found in the family back yard about 4 p m the same day she disappeared around 6 15 a m. Police were alerted after she was missing upon awakening for breakfast.
Oklahoma hatcheries produced 1.7 million chicks in May, well below 1951 May and 1946-50 average. First five months total 13.22 million, down from 15.58 million year to date. Many smaller hatcheries have closed for the season, according to the Federal-State Crop and Livestock Reporting Service.
President Truman warned the steel strike worsens the deficit and said any 15 percent tax cut by Taft or Eisenhower would not help. he argued taxes should rise to address the deficit and noted Ike remains a friend though not in the Democratic campaign. He offered no concrete steps to tackle the steel crisis.
Three Allen teenage girls Frances Jennings 16 Tommie Black 15 and Mable Fern Cozad 17 were injured when a pickup overturned twice on SH 48 near Tupelo. Trooper Bailey said the vehicle driven by Cozad was traveling at a high rate of speed. all three were taken to Ada for medical treatment.
P-Highway Patrolmen captured two holdup men today thirty minutes after they robbed a Perry filling station operator of fifty nine dollars and fled in a stolen car. Troopers Taylor Lain and Charles Wood identified the suspects as Richard Henry Cluebine nineteen and James Harrison Newman twenty two, both of Mapletown Iowa.
