A sightless whiteface calf born three months ago near Byng North of Ada adapts to life with the Paul Farmer family. The calf moves around gates and trees with apparent radar, seldom bumping into objects. The farmers, who nickname it the “freak of nature,” plan to let the calf grow up naturally and remain under family care. The mother is a registered Guernsey. the veterinary explanation is that the calf’s condition is a natural oddity. The family's cows initially puzzled by the calf soon showed protective instincts, and the farmers vow to provide daily attention and shelter.

After losing her husband she turned to flowers, built a hot house once considered, and now cultivates magnolias and other varieties with practical pride.

An Ada woman, Ruby Simpkins, 42, was injured in a two car crash at Sixth and Beard at 7:35 am. The Stowe vehicle struck the left side of the Simpkins auto, injuring passenger Simpkins with cuts and bruises. Stowe 22, Billy Jack Stowe, was cited for improper brakes and driving without a license. owner Francis Ott forfeited bond.

Mary Harrison Dies at 93 in Pontotoc County Hospital
Mrs. Mary Zerilda Harrison of 1318 South Stockton dies at 7:12 am in a local hospital at age 93. Born May 31, 1869 in Fort Smith Arkansas she lived in Pontotoc County 87 years and was widow of Daniel P. Harrison prominent Chickasaw Nation figure and former federal court interpreter. He served as Stonewall postmaster and ran a general store. she belonged to tribal and community leadership. Continued on Page Two.
