University Hospital Faces Financial Turmoil In Oklahoma
A special committee appointed by Gov. Johnston Murray works to untangle University Hospital’s finances. State budget officer Don Blundell reports a $100,000 contingency grant keeps it open, with potential for $50,000 more this month. A Supreme Court ruling ended county funding via a one-fifth mill tax, cutting roughly $200,000 from the $2 million annual budget. Sub-committees will report to the September 15 meeting as options include revenue moves and trimming costly services.
