Mrs. S L Prince age 86 died Thursday at 3 am at her Honey Grove home after long illness. Active First Baptist member, she lived in Honey Grove 50 years and is survived by daughter Mrs Ernest Speke and sons Lyal and Leslie Prince. Funeral Friday at 2 pm in Honey Grove. Prince brothers ran a Pontiac dealership and Chevrolet agency in Ada and Pontiac before moving to Ada 35 and 25 years ago.

COfC Farm Youth Poultry Winners Named
Ada Chamber of Commerce wrapped up this year’s farm youth poultry program with 49 youngsters selling dressed chickens at 50 cents per pound. Three winners were chosen from six breed classifications with a total of 18 prize recipients. Oklahoma A and M poultry expert H G Ware praised the exhibits and predicted high poultry prices due to fewer hens and chicks this spring.

Dr Ed Davis Succumbs, Noted History Professor Dies at 63
Dr Edward Davis, 63, professor of American History at East Central State College since 1920, died Wednesday night at a local hospital. A service will be held Friday at Trinity Baptist Church, with Rev. W. A. Pendleton officiating, and burial will take place in Water Valley, Mississippi. Survived by daughter Hazel Lois Allison, brother Claude Davis of Water Valley, and a sister, he earned degrees from Oklahoma University and the University of Texas. Known as “Red” Davis, he was active in the American Historical Association and the Southwest Social Science Association.
