Linda Kasabian testifies in Los Angeles that Charles Manson, unhappy with the Tate killings, led the group on a wild search for more victims wandering through Pasadena and Hollywood hills, stopping at six places including a church, before heading toward the LaBiancas. She recounts driving with Manson directing and names fellow followers Katie Krenwinkel Sadie Atkins Tex Watson Leslie Van Houten and Clem Tufts as present. The state says Manson planned the LaBianca murders while others carried them out. Watson seeks extradition from Texas.

Tulsa Theater Fire Was Arson
AP reports investigators ruled arson caused a $100,000 blaze at the Majestic Art Theater in Tulsa. Bottles of gasoline were found near a downstairs projection booth as firefighters used ten units to combat the fire, melting four new computer controlled projectors and damaging other theaters on an upper floor.

Three Ada Men Face Marijuana Possession Charges
Three Ada men Donnie Howard Smith Curtis Don Gilliam and William Howard Douglas were charged in District Court Tuesday with possession of marijuana. They were arrested Monday night by Ada police officers after they were seen leaving a cafe on Main Street and retrieving a quantity of what was identified by the state crime bureau laboratory in Oklahoma City as marijuana.

Dedication of Neighborhood Building Planned
Congressman Carl Albert will speak at the dedication of the New String town Neighborhood Facility on August 15. Open house starts at 9 a.m. with the program at 10 a.m. The facility, completed in July, received a $114,000 grant from HUD, with Stringtown Independent School District contributing about $30,000 to construction and $15,000 for equipment. It includes an activities area usable as auditorium or gym, a large meeting room, two small rooms, conference space, kitchen, offices, stage, dressing rooms, and public restrooms. The building will be maintained by the Board of Education and made available to groups for worthwhile activities.

Hearing Set For Aug 18 In Shooting Case Ada man pleads innocent in shooting with intent to kill
Lawrence Poindexter 27 of Ada pleaded innocent in district court to shooting with intent to kill after Darwin Gore 27 was wounded on a county road southeast of Ada. Preliminary hearing set for Aug 18. The same court upheld a demurrer in a separate second degree burglary case against Joe Bill Daniels. Several defendants pleaded guilty in municipal court for open containers, improper passing, and other traffic or liquor offenses. One accident Monday on Broadway near 4th involved Donald Ray Mings, Jane Lula Simpson, and Fanny Faye Starcup, with no severe injuries reported.
