HD Members Attend Annual Picnic and Council Meeting
About 75 home demonstration club members gathered June 30 at Wintersmith Park for the Ptoto County Home Demonstration Council picnic and council meeting. Mrs. W. C. Story presided as council president and Mrs. Raymond Verble was elected secretary replacing Mrs. Ritter who is moving to Fort Worth. Delegates to the national HD council meeting in Chicago August 21 25 were chosen as Mrs. Inez Bruhin and another officer.

A&M Scholarships Open for Journalism Students
Oklahoma State University area graduates may apply for Theta Sigma Phi and Sigma Delta Chi journalism scholarships for 1955-56. Each group offers up to four $100 awards, or one to two $100 awards, with $50 issued each semester. Pvt. Frank A. Cheek, 20, son of Mrs. Blanch Cheek of Route 4 Ada, will be rotated to Fort Riley Kansas with the 7th Field Artillery Battalion. The unit took part in the 1st Infantry Division Organization Day Parade at Kitzingen Germany. He enlisted in September 1953 and finished basic at Camp Chaffee Arkansas. He arrived in Germany February 1954 and previously worked for Fleet Drilling Company.

Summer Camp Draws Large Church Group
The East Oklahoma Conference Pentecostal Holiness Church sponsors a summer camp at the permanent camp ground two miles east of Ada. The event runs until July 13 with Rev. J. Louis Coward of Greenville, South Carolina as principal speaker delivering talks at 11 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. daily. Morning prayer starts at 7 a.m. each day.
