Haley Catches Five Pound Bass At Local Lake
T H Haley reeled in a five and three fourth pound bass at the lake near daylight on Wednesday while using an injured minnow lure from the bank. He also caught two smaller fish about a pound each with the same plug. Previously G R Cartwright caught a five and a quarter pound bass and a six pound catch several weeks ago.

Fire damages Palmer home from hot water tank
Firefighters were alerted at 3:30 am to minor damage at R. L. Palmer's house at 506 East Fifteenth. The blaze spread slowly from the kitchen to nearby timber and a ceiling hole three feet square was burned. A cabinet near the ceiling fueled the flames.
