Arrested After Auto Overturned in Latta Crash
Leonard Hudgins was arrested Saturday after a Friday night accident on Highway 12 one mile southwest of Latta. His car overturned causing injuries. he was taken to Ada hospital where officers detained him. The stolen vehicle belonged to Millard Lawson. damage was extensive. Chief Somer Jones seeks the good samaritans who brought Hudgins to the hospital for information. Hudgins listed Macomb route 2 as his home.

Pontotoc county officers recovered two stolen vehicles this week. A 1934 Chevrolet was taken from £ L Norman at 451 West 13th Street and later found burned after being stripped of parts on a road near Byng. A 1929 Ford coupe owned by H R Jackson of Wewoka was found in a ditch four miles north of Ada and returned to its owner.

Truck Fire Kills Burgin and Companion Near Stratford
Eddie Burgin, a 30 year old truck driver from Wewoka, and an unidentified companion died when their pipe laden truck left Highway 19 near Stratford, South Garvin County, caught fire in a ditch. Burgin was identified. his companion remains unnamed.

Cafe Slaying Claims Lewis In Back Entrance Shooting
Officers reported a man in a khaki suit with a cap shot Lewis at close range in a cafe after entering from the back door. The victim, unarmed, was struck in the head and killed. another bullet went through the floor behind the counter. Brumley, who had business with Lewis, said Lewis came from Bromide and had unknown relatives. Brumley and two women were taken to Ada for questioning.

Mrs John Davis Answers Summons
Mrs Lillie R Davis wife of Prof John Davis of East Central college died Sunday morning at 8 15 at the family residence in Valley View addition Ada after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 from the First Presbyterian church with Rev O B Lee officiating Interment Memorial Park cemetery. Survived by husband a daughter Mrs Ruth Williams of Dodge City Kan and other relatives. The Davises came to Ada 11 years ago previously in Edmond where Mr Davis taught at Central State Teachers college. They had been married 38 years. Mrs Davis was a lifelong Presbyterian and active church worker.
