Mat Lloyd father of Mrs. W. E. McCraw and Jack Lloyd of Ada injured Friday night at the home of Mrs. McCraw on S07 South Stockton. Taken to the Sugg clinic, doctors report a broken thigh just below the hip. Lloyd is 9 years old and had a prior leg fracture eight years ago but walked normally until the accident.
McAlester, Feb. 20 Sonny Wells, a negro convict, pleaded guilty at arraignment to a manslaughter charge in the death of Jess Williams who was stabbed Aug. 28, 1933 and died Feb. 15, 1935. Usher Vaughan pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in the death of Henry Yates, another convict, who died Dec. 16, 1934 after being struck on the head with an iron pipe.
B E Hennigan Pontotoc county FERA director died Thursday from accidental injuries at an Oklahoma City mule barn. He was 46. Funeral services are at his Ada home at 3 pm with Rev Wilson and Rev J C Curry officiating. Burial at Rosedale cemetery. He is survived by Grace Hennigan widow Van Hennigan father and children Ruby Barringer Ruth Floyd Tommie Mary B E Jr and Billie Jean.
Warden calls for a full inquiry into all charges amid dispute with governor and board of affairs. No reason for dismissal was provided by officials.
Six escaped inmates in white uniforms fled northwest of Houston after breaking from Harlem state farm. They hijacked a touring car from a Mexican, dragged a guard from his horse, and headed toward Hempstead with sightings reported near that area. Names include Walker Sarrett, Eddie Vanden, S. B. Vowell, Leroy Eggleston, Raymond Henderson, and Nonie Dobbs.
Bob Duncan longtime Oklahoma City lawman and former Pontotoc County undersheriff dies aged 66 or 67 in Ada Okla after a brief pneumonia illness. Funeral held at First Baptist Church with services by Rev C C Morris and interment at Rosedale cemetery.
Charley W. Floyd was appointed Pontotoc county FERA supervisor replacing Bunyan E. Hennigan who died from injuries in an Oklahoma City accident. Floyd, sworn in at state FERA headquarters, previously served as deputy tax assessor and two terms as county tax assessor. Walter Hughes became deputy assessor to fill Floyd’s former post.
County officers reported Albert Dicker son still at large ten days after an escape from the county jail while Oney Knight was captured near Stonewall early Tuesday. Knight refused to surrender until confronted with machine gun fire and left behind the jail gun.
District 39 Masonic association schedules its February 22 gathering at Coalgate to honor George Washington in whose life as a Mason Rev. O B Lee will speak. Officers elected at the last meeting include Bourland as president Herrin Francis as first VP Canning as second VP Dowdy as secretary treasurer. District 36 plans February 25 at Mill Creek and District 28 at Asher on February 27.
SAN DIEGO Feb 20 Two naval airmen Lieut C A R Lindgren of Minneapolis and Radioman Arthur A Freeman of Silsbee Texas were killed when their land plane broke from formation during a training flight off La Jolla. Cause not determined. Three destroyers searched futilely for their bodies.
Hog prices here rose to a new four year high for a second straight day. The top reached 8.50 dollars per hundred pounds, with a 2.25 dollar processing tax bringing total to 10.75 dollars. The peak is the highest since November 17, 1939.
Henry Wright recently from Coal county was released on $500 bond after waiving arraignment on a charge of possession of beverages with unlawful alcoholic content. He pleaded not guilty and his case will be heard in the next term of county court, likely in March.

Five men who said they were escaped prisoners from Granite halted O A Thrasher of Maud and a companion, then tonight three miles northeast of Maud robbed Thrasher of his automobile. One man matched the description of Malloy Kuykendall, a leader in last Sunday's prison escape leaving 18 prisoners at large. Authorities from Maud, Seminole and Shawnee joined the manhunt, blocking roads and bridges.
Sundown Suim also known as Claud Farris quarrelled over taxi fare with John Gray after a ride to his Ada area home. He drew a .38 pistol, multiple shots were fired but caused no injuries as Gray fled. Deputy Sheriff Charley Shockley and City Patrolman W B McDaniels arrested Sundown Slim at his home.
Eyewitness account describes the beheading of Benita Von Falkenhayn and Renatt Von Natzmer at Pletzense prison. The two women faced death with calm as floodlights lit the courtyard and a crucifix stood on a table during the execution. The six minute operation ended with the prosecutor’s reading of the death verdict and the executioner carrying out the sentence.
