Sheriff Walter Mosier 43 of Shawnee died in a highway collision near Hugo as dust from another car blanketed the road. John Tucker of Broken Bow was hospitalized with severe injuries, and N J Jacobs of Shawnee described the fatal crash as Mosier and Tucker returning from Texas. Mosier had led Shawnee as undersheriff 1930 34 and served as Pottawatomie County sheriff since then. He is survived by widow Bertha and children Charles and Charlotte.

Mrs Harold T Miller 30 a noted peace advocate died following an appendicitis operation in Detroit. A native of Moultonboro New Hampshire she held executive roles in international women’s groups and served as educational director for Michigan League of Nations Association since 1929 and as president of the Women’s Council for Education in International Relations in 1932. She attended a League of Nations conference in Paris as an American delegate.
