From Tuesday's Daily one new meningitis case is confirmed in Ada. Mrs Horton, recently moved from Mississippi with her husband to 16th Street, is said to be severely ill yet improving this afternoon. A later report notes a second case, a three year old child of Mrs Jones on West 15th Street, bringing the day's cases to two.

City Council Hears Fence Proposal and River/Street Adjustments
The council met quietly and referred a cemetery fence proposal to the cemetery committee. It plans to hear Byrd's Mill extension claims at the next meeting where final action may occur. The water department reported 13 736 feet of pipe laid at a total cost of 5028.90 with labor 1102.42. The average per foot was 81 39c. A request to move Main street weeds to Katy railroad requires grading. Ratliff Ebey and Ellison to meet with Katy about a local freight division and viaducts. Ordinances moved 100 from building to street fund and 1290 from storm sewer to street and bridge fund.

Oklahoma City Feb 10 Oliver M Akin announces the initiative petition to abolish fourteen state schools will be filed February 23 with Secretary of State Ben F Harrison. He expects 40000 to 50000 signatures though law requires 20000. Akin spoke to the Trades and Labor council and a petition was circulated by Teamsters union secretary treasurer John Denny amid delegates signing.

State Committee Endorses Taft for renomination in Oklahoma
Guthrie February 12 The Oklahoma Republican State Committee endorsed President Taft for renomination and James A. Harris of Wagoner for National committeeman. A state convention in Guthrie on March 14 was called to elect delegates and alternates to the national convention and to appoint members to various party bodies. Harris declared Taft support nearly unanimous and forecast Taft delegates to Chicago. Roosevelt supporters attended, with Ed Perry of Coalgate involved in the resolutions process but balking at signing Taft endorsement.
