District supervisors approve new programs in county
District Supervisors of Pontetee County Soil and Water Conservation District met February 8 1971 with Board Chairman B M Stephens and members including Walter Woolley Dr Harvey Price and C C Buxton Jr. They approved conservation plans for farms of O C Young Fitzhugh McCalls Chapel School Ada Phillip Beises Stratford and Guy L McElroy Route 4 Ada. Henry Hudson was selected as District Cooperor for conservation work and named to Goodyear Company for a sponsor loan a statewide contest offers a weeks study trip to Goodyear Falls Arizona. Farmers are applying conservation practices. gullies are being repaired and ponds built to curb erosion and flooding.

VICA Members’ Legislative Day Planned in Oklahoma City

Annual Latta talent show crowns top acts
The Junior clubs held the 4 H Share the Fun Contest Monday night at Latta with 13 acts. Judges chose three top group acts and two individuals. Winning group acts were Cathy Cool, Jer Oldeen Roff Jr 4-H, and Hee Haw Vaross Jr 4-H. Individual winners were music acts from Byng School H Club.
