Sam Dew of Pecan Grove won third in the Junior Jersey Bull Calf division and placed seventh in the Junior Heifer division at the Fat Stock show in Fort Worth Texas, adding to local recognition for the Pontotoc community.
A Heart Fund drive opens with Harral Allen noting Oklahoma deaths in 1952 totaled 9 031, with heart and blood vessel disease causing 138 deaths in the county. He compares heart disease to cancer and other killers, urging support for research and education efforts.
All Pontotoc County schools received initial hearing tests using a pure tone audiometer led by Ada workshop trained teachers under the State Health Department.
