Special to the Ada Evening News reports Galliger's substitute to the statehood bill prohibiting sale of all intoxicants for 21 years passed 53 to 20. Final vote delayed until late. Washington, D. C., Feb 7.
Miss Bertie Eddieman wed Mr. Paul Van Horn of Sherman Texas in a ceremony at the EdDieman home with Rev John Williams officiating A large gathering of friends witnessed the union The bride has taught in Ada public schools and the groom works for Frisco railroad A long list of presents followed the ceremony with numerous items from local and regional families.
The senate after a long session passed the joint statehood bill admitting Oklahoma and New Mexico as states while Arizona was removed. Debates covered prohibition, a state constitution, and county court provisions with votes on Bard and Dolliver amendments shaping separate statehood moves.
Ardmore Oklahoma Territory February 5 Federal Judge Townsend named S F Sackett of Marion Kansas as probate commissioner of the Southern district. Sackett will handle minors leases guardians accounts and administrators accounts and prepare probate dockets for the court system ahead of potential statehood.
Lawton Oklahoma February 5 Chief Quanah Parker of the Comanches living near Cache will attend President Roosevelt inauguration parade with his three wives. Geronimo the Apache warrior is also slated to appear as a prisoner of war at Fort SIl. Both will ride on Indian ponies in the event.
Superintendent Newberry appoints Prof E B Hinshaw of Bloomfield Seminary to lead the Chickasaw National Summer Normal, choose faculty and the site and date, and make the final session the best yet. The Chickasaws expect educational matters to wind down next year as schools close. Hinshaw is praised as a leading educator and citizen of the Territory.

W A Chapman formerly of Arkansas was arrested Monday on a charge of writing and mailing obscene letters to his wife who has separated from him. His incoherent talk suggests he is insane.
The wife of W S Hill who came from Missouri last fall died Tuesday night from pneumonia leaving several small children motherless. Hill worked at the compress and faces a hard blow with the loss.
Moss and Scrivner announce a new grocery firm to open in the Henley and Biles building around February 15. Scrivner arrives from the Choctaw nation and is brother-in-law to Sol Moss, long associated with M. L. Walsh. Best wishes are wished for the venture.
In Iola Kansas on February 5 1920s era Dr S S Murphy pastor of the Methodist church refused to let Richard Pearson Hobson speak at the pulpit during a union revival. The pulpit committee had invited Hobson and he agreed but Murphy vetoed the arrangement upon returning home citing disharmony with the revival spirit.
