Ada City Council Hears Air Rights Deal At FAA Waiver

Ada council met Monday to discuss air rights over the Mayhue Estate near Ada Airport and a possible Ada Boys Club site. The FAA waived air rights requirements, with an appraised value of 22,000 while the city budgeted 1,000. A salvage plan from Bill Hoover’s group could fund a new club home.

Ada Principals Rehired by Ada Board for 1965-66

The Ada Board of Education rehired all principals for 1965-66 and approved a substitute music teacher, Connie Quiett. A $2,000 transfer from the building fund to furniture was approved to cover possible needs as only $9.35 remained in furniture from a $22,250.69 budget. Principals rehired include Elton Stewart, Lewis Colbert, Nicey Vickers, C. L. Robberson, Paul Landrith, Finis Morrison, Antoinette Huff, and Robert Johnson.

Wheat Condition Is Improving Across Oklahoma

State and federal agencies report Oklahoma wheat condition at 94 percent good or better, up from 42 percent last year. Over one third of the wheat acreage showed growth last week as cattle graze on wheat pasture. Spring oats seedbed prep continues with two-fifths of oat land plowed, less than one-tenth seeded. range feed dwindles while winter grass provides forage. some eastern cattle are thin but no major death loss. soil moisture is adequate except in the Panhandle.

Vanoss Cub Scouts Meeting and Awards

The Vanoss cub scouts met January 29 at Vanoss School with Andy Andrews leading the flag salute. Feedlot Operators Remain Balanced in Face of Low Cattle Prices

In Washington the Agriculture Department reported little decline in feedlot operators despite low cattle prices. Operators convert feeder cattle into fattened animals for slaughter markets as fed cattle prices fell to the lowest in seven years amid abundant domestic supplies and higher imports.
