Stratford High to field football team after decades
After roughly 30 years Stratford High will field a football team next season. The Stratford Booster Club launched the drive two months ago, led by Tom Pickard. Coach J W Nailer, from Oklahoma, signed the contract Tuesday and will face eight opponents including Maud and Noble. The old baseball field will be repurposed for football with equipment sourced from Oklahoma University and East Central.

Four Men Sentenced In County Court Tuesday
Four individuals received sentences in County Court on Tuesday after pleading guilty or being found guilty. Leon Ryles got 30 days for maintaining a disorderly house. Fire Destroys Francis House in Early Morning Blaze
Firefighters from Ada answered at 2 30 a m to a residence owned by Raymond Golden located one half mile west of Francis. The house was fully involved upon arrival and no one was home. The cause remains undetermined. Earlier calls Monday yielded minor incidents including a couch fire at 317 East 13th caused by children with matches and a furnace lint fire at 427 West 18th with no damage.
