Four men were killed and two others injured in Christmas shooting incidents in Hazard Kentucky. Deputies responded to a disturbance at the home of Phill and a gunfight near a store left Hays, J. Six Die in Maine Slayings by Polish Immigrant John Snow
In Cooper's Mills and Whitefield Maine on December 22, John Snow, a Polish immigrant who married a local woman, shot his wife Ida Snow, four others including Deputy Jewett's wife and son, and a 15-year-old boy, then killed himself. The victims include Johan Snow, Ruth Brann, Mrs Eaton, and Mrs Snow's sister. Mrs Jewett and her son died at their home while others perished in a cottage near Cooper's Mills. baby survived.

Prominent Man Held in Slaying of Hotel Owner
Marvin Kincannon, 20, surrendered to Paul Sullivan, county attorney, charged with murder in the killing of A. L. Berch, Marlow hotel proprietor, and Robert Journegan, a negro porter. Six other Marlow men were also charged with murder. The mob attacked Berch and Journegan at Berch's hotel lobby amid plans to lynch Journegan. Berch died instantly. Journegan died next morning. Mrs. Berch identified the slayer.
