Two Escapees From Prison Recaptured
Two Kansas Penitentiary escapees were recaptured in Fort Morgan after a confrontation with farmer Elmer Carlson and his son Peter. Cameron, 26, suffered head injuries and Tatum, 33, was shot in the back. Cameron was moved to city jail and Tatum hospitalized in Denver. The pair had escaped Dec 4 with two others, and police are checking if they tied to an Oklahoma kidnap case. The elder Carlson was pistol whipped, and the chase ended with the suspects forced to a curb on a residential street.
