Farm price mix softens overall farm income drop
USDA reports mid Oct to mid Nov saw better prices for milk tomatoes and other vegetables helping cushion an overall 1.5 percent decline in the Crop Reporting Board index of prices received by farmers. Prices paid by farmers rose 1 percent and retail food costs show a 3 percent uptick for households. Meat prices fell with beef at 28.30 per 100 pounds live weight hogs 36.70 and lamb 34.90 while dairy index rose 3 percent led by milk plants. Wheat rose 2 cents to 4.87 a bushel soybeans fell from 8.17 to 7.44 a bushel.

Oklahoma Farm Exports Top $633.5 Million in 1974
Oklahoma agricultural exports totaled $633.5 million for fiscal year 1974, the state Department of Agriculture said. Export specialist Tom Tippens noted this amounted to about three percent of U.S. total exports of $21.322 billion, with Oklahoma ranking 13th among states in value.
