Operators announce a plan to curtail production at the Oklahoma fields for a period of three months. The move is described as a temporary measure to balance supply and demand and stabilize prices.
A plan to prorate January March oil production in Oklahoma is adopted by operators in Tulsa with no opposition. It calls 40 percent cuts for Oklahoma City and East Earlsboro fields in January February, 20 percent for other fields, and 50 percent for Oklahoma fields in March.
Liquor sales were restored in several Scottish areas after local option elections. In Pollokshaw's Ward Glasgow liquor supporters won by 44 in a 7 358 poll with 14 licenses at issue. Four Clyde banks wards also voted for sale and Culle village backed continued licensing.
London reports ongoing river rises as Thames Valley, Somerset, and western midlands suffer widespread flooding. Severn Wye Usk Tone and Parrett pour water over farmlands and towns, with roads impassable and rail service variably affected. Windsor and Eaton grounds submerged, Runnymead lagoon forms near Egham. Wind speeds decrease but low clouds linger over Scotland.
Stillwater reports that a quart of liquor allegedly bought before a raid that left federal agent Otto Butler dead will be used in prosecuting John Young and Latoseca Young. Ernest F. Jenkins says a joint murder charge will be filed, and deputy George S. Danhour also injured. Butler’s body was sent to Cherryvale for funeral. his widow and small son survive.
President Hoover faces a difficult decision over two Democratic nominees to the interstate commerce commission. Eastman of Boston is favored by White House allies while faces from railroad interests. Southern candidates compete as Richard V. Taylor likely awaits replacement amid broad regional bids including Maxwell Woods Burr and Choate among others.
J. W. Boehr extension dairy specialist of Oklahoma A and M college will speak at a county dairy meeting. J. B. Hill, county agent, has invited 116 cream shippers to attend at the courthouse office tomorrow at 10 o clock. The gathering will last at least two hours and focus on dairy problems and county dairy interests. Citizens interested in the farm program are welcome.
Joseph R. Grundy appeared to take the seat from Pennsylvania denied to William S. Ware but Sen Nye questioned his credentials and referred the matter to an elections committee. Nye's resolution cited the 1929 Vare inquiry and $785,000 spending, while noting another anti Vare ticket spent $1,804,979. Grundy, allied with Governor Fisher, faced scrutiny before oath.
A six member delegation began shaping what would be the largest cooperative marketing organization, a $30 million central agency to finance cotton handling across 15 southern and western states. The plan, born from a Farm Board conference, envisions a non profit Capper Volstead cooperative with a 21 member directorate and regional bureaus, with headquarters to be chosen later in Memphis Dallas or Atlanta.

Auburn New York December reports reveal three hundred armed inmates patrolled the prison during a deadly riot that killed eight convicts and the head keeper. State police stormed the institution rescuing Warden Edgar S Jennings and seven guards held hostage in a dramatic two hour assault.
Senator Pine accompanied by Oklahoma's congressional delegation protested the southern route for the air mail line to Postmaster General Brown. They urged a northern path via Pittsburg, St. Louis, and Tulsa, arguing it better serves the region and noting the southern route avoids the Allegheny mountains. The plea is under consideration.
J. C. Hynds secretary of the Chamber of Commerce tours the Rebee oil fields area aiding a county crew. The project widens the road adds culverts and gravel at the worst spots with extra right of way secured two miles north of Center near Springbrook.
