Tulsa Theater Fire Arson Suspected at Majestic Art Theater
Investigators labeled the Majestic Art Theater fire in Tulsa as arson after a $100,000 blaze. Gasoline bottles were found near a downstairs projection booth, and witnesses were questioned. Four new computer controlled projectors were ruined, with heat damage spreading to upper floors and adjacent theaters. Fire crews used ten apparatus including snorkel units and pumper engines.

Three Ada men were charged in District Court on Tuesday with possession of marijuana. Donnie Howard Smith 21 Route 4 Ada Curtis Don Gilliam 20 617 W 3rd Ada and William Howard Douglas Jr 20 Box 124 Ada were arrested Monday night after officers Keller and Davis observed them leave a cafe on Main Street and retrieve a quantity of what was later confirmed as marijuana by the state crime laboratory in Oklahoma City.

Dedication of Neighborhood Building Planned
Congressman Carl Albert will speak at the dedication of the New Stringtown Neighborhood Facility on August 15. Open house starts at 9 a.m. with a program at 10 a.m. The building, completed in July, received a $114,000 grant from HUD. Stringtown Independent School District contributed about $30,000 to construction and $15,000 for equipment. The facility includes an auditorium gymnasium, meeting room, two activity rooms, conference room, kitchen, offices, stage, dressing rooms and restrooms. It will be maintained by the Board of Education and opened to qualified groups for worthwhile activities.
