Archie Moore superintendent of Choctaw Cotton Oil and R L Barry civil engineer and oil company employee die after their automobile is struck by a Frisco passenger train at the North Broadway crossing. Moore dies at hospital within minutes. Barry remains gravely injured with limited hope of recovery. Crowds witnessed the fatal collision as the train slowed for the depot and both men were dragged from beneath the wreckage.

Tourists killed in fall on mountain road near Nice
In Nice France Aug 21 a sightseeing bus plunged from a parapet into the Var killing five American tourists and one French person and badly injuring five others. Eighteen passengers were American. Victims include Rev Hiram Grant Person and Mrs Person of Newton Mass and Alexander Sondheimer of Muskogee Okla. The crash occurred in Guillanes about 40 miles from Nice. Alexander Sondheimer was in critical condition with a fractured skull. The driver failed to clear a sharp turn and the bus somersaulted over the parapet into the torrent below.

Oil News Reports New Gas Sand Near Ada
From Tuesday's Daily, the Lan caster and Smith well on the Norris land two miles east of Ada penetrated a new gas sand on Monday afternoon. The volume is not yet estimated the well has been capped and work paused until an eight inch casing is installed. The seventh gas sand was found at about 1 100 feet after the first at 400 feet. The find suggests a new gas field and ample city supply for years, with potential for oil or greater gas flow deeper.

Guckian was struck in the shoulder and groin while about four people including Wayne Bayless and two girls were robbed of about 4 50. One diamond ring was dropped and recovered by relatives. Police captain John B Ryan and county attorney J K Wright led the response as detectives sought three amateur bandits described as wearing dark overalls with white handkerchief masks. The youth's condition was described as serious but improving late Monday.

Indian man bound over in burglary case for preliminary hearing
George Gaddis an Indian was bound over to await the action of district court in a preliminary hearing this morning before Justice H J Brown on a charge of burglary in the second degree. Oklahoma City Aug 21 Two writs of habeas corpus directed Adjutant General Markham to appear before the state supreme court Thursday morning to show cause why W W Wilcox and R C Ragle military prisoners at Tulsa should not be released. Wash Hudson of Tulsa filed the application alleging no bail no counsel or contact with friends. The writs command Markham or counsel to present the prisoners in court and do not order immediate release until the court acts after the hearing. Wilcox had reportedly been freed by military authorities earlier the court action followed.
