Kemmerer Wyo August 15 officials of Kemmerer Coal Co announced 87 bodies recovered from mine No 1 at Frontier after yesterday’s explosion. Eleven men remain unaccounted for and are believed dead, as revised figures were released shortly before noon.
Ninety-one bodies recovered by Aug 15 from the Frontier mine where 13 miners died in an explosion the previous day. Thirty four were rescued. total in mine later counted 134. Causes under study with theories including an cut shot or a spark from a strip car igniting dust or gas, officials said.
Despite heavy loss of life the mine interior suffered only light wreckage. Rescue workers who entered the smoke filled passages soon after the explosion faced debris but were hampered little, continuing attempts to reach any survivors.
The Norman Howard post of the American Legion builds a 16 member drum corps for the state convention in Lawton next Monday and Tuesday. Regular practices will run nightly this week as Ada hopes to attract the event and publish a special edition of the Ada Legionnaire. Traveling members listed include Audra Huber, Eaph Reed, Clint Miers, Zeke West, Zip West, Paul Norrell, Paul Young, Dudley Young, Robin Shannon, Hogan Montgomery, Jack Price, John Chauncey, G. W. Braly, Banty Priest, Ralph Waner, and Otie Davidson.

Eamon de Valera, republican leader, was arrested in Ennis County Clare while addressing a republican meeting on the election campaign. Free state troops opened fire to disperse the crowd as armored cars surrounded the platform. many were injured and the crowd fled in panic. De Valera was later taken to the county jail.
National president Charles E. Barrett of the F. E. and C. A. of A. will speak at the courthouse Friday August 17 from 10 a m to 4 p m. The event invites everyone to attend and hear his guidance for farmers.
The second arrest in connection with the theft of two cases of surgical instruments and medicines belonging to Dr. M. & Lewis was made in Oklahoma City where Gladys Kemp, Negro, was jailed on a warrant from Justice H. J. Brown's court. Kemp follows Charlie Smith, Negro, held here Monday. Smith was bound over to district court on grand larceny charges with bond set at $2,000. Kemp remains jailed in Oklahoma City until he is brought back to face larceny charges.
Congressman Tom D McKeown warns Europe is nearing another war unless the United States Great Britain and allies act quickly. He urges U S leadership with France and Germany to resolve Ruhr reparations and press for peace before crisis widens and disrupts American trade and finances.
Ralph Waner of the Chamber of Commerce says a committee including N B Stall A A Lucas and N W Fisher will arrange race events and other amusements for the county fair alongside agriculture and livestock exhibits. Fair secretary J B Hill notes a ferris wheel and merry go round may be built on the Ada grounds with more innocent amusements. Township fairs start September 3 at Allen Roff Stonewall Vaness Maxwell and Francis while the County Fair in Ada runs September 12 13 14 and 15.
The weather report notes Ada baked under a scorching sun as the day reached 106 degrees. This marks the third time this summer the mercury hit 106, with a prior 107 degree reading only once.

G L Sparkman appeared on a $750 bond after being arrested with 125 gallons of mash and a still part in Tyrola district. Tom and Theodore Reese pled guilty to burglary and stealing chickens in Justice Brown s court, with sentencing set for Saturday.
The weather report shows a 106 degree temperature, unchanged from yesterday. E. A. MacMillan, keeper of the government thermometer, cautions that the mercury could rise further as the heat continues to endure across Ada.
Edwin Dabney, assistant state attorney general, begins inquiry into anonymous rumors at the state house that highway department cars were confiscated by employees, sold, and proceeds kept. Ordered by George Short after Gov. Walton's instruction. Three department figures to be investigated. names not released.
In Muskogee Aug 14 the killing of David Houston, a Choctaw elder, near Corrine in Pushmataha county last April is solved by a confession from two boys. They admitted robbery motive claiming Houston hid three trunks of money. Houston was shot at his doorstep after dogs alerted prowlers. The case baffled investigators for weeks.
Governor Walton told highway commissioner Paul Nesbitt that state highway department employees have no authority to stop motorists or take money for license fees. He directed enforcement officers to act only when requested by the county sheriff and to have commissions revoked if overstepping authority. The eight other department staff under Ninth Legislature authority are exempt.
At a Saturday meeting W A Peck W H Summers and T F Beller were appointed to attend the state Farmers Union meeting in Shawnee on August 21 22 and 23. Beller urged all locals to send delegates. Officials praised the outcome of a recent local picnic.
Tulsa, Aug 14. Governor Walton imposed martial law in Tulsa at 6 AM with three infantry companies under Adjutant General Markham to restore order after recent mob violence connected to an attempted abduction and whipping of Nathan Hantman. Police and sheriff retain limited control with guards supporting local authorities.
An Ada Ku Klux Klan group announces a large parade and initiatory ceremony at the Ada Golf links on Tuesday evening August 21. The parade forms in the southeast city area, travels west on Main to Townsend, then south to Eighteenth, west to Johnson, and finally to the golf links. Officers expect several scores of candidates to be initiated.
A revival began at Owl Creek last Thursday night August 16 led by Rev J Dillard of the Holiness church. The gathering aims to renew faith and attract local attendees to the ongoing services.
