4 H Clubbers Shape Up Entries For County Fair
County 4 H members prepare for next month’s fair with strong livestock entries. Jack Sanders 12 of Hickory shows a Holstein heifer after prior honors in 4 H. He is a seventh grader at Roff school and placed in junior yearling judging at the Alvin Barger Holstein Field Day. His brother Jerry, age three, aims to exhibit soon.

Ada Quarter Horse Sale enters second year with 225 horses
The Ada sale opens at 10 a m in the sales pavilion on SH 13 with 225 head from five states and local consignors. Names include SEA Cattle Co Ardmore and Alaskan Livestock Co Moore among others. Auctioneers are Tom Caldwell and Bill Porter.

Cave Found Near Byng Described As Largest In 25 Mile Radius
Byng youths uncovered a limestone cave about 20 feet underground in a pasture near Byng along the Canadian River. Reported depths reach 1000 feet in places with six foot high ceilings, including a main passage and side tunnels. The explorers encountered no bats but found pack rat nests and white fossils along walls.
