Gasoline Explosion Injures Ada Woman
Ada woman Patricia Brogden sustained first and second degree burns to both legs when gasoline she used to clean clothing ignited. She was treated at Valley View hospital and transferred to Tishomingo Hospital. The fire spread from the kitchen, damaging only that area. Neighbor Mrs. Slaman assisted her until the ambulance arrived.

Ada Airport Gets FAA Grant for Runway Upgrade
A federal grant of 45000 dollars was approved by the Federal Aviation Agency for Ada municipal airport improvements. The funds match Ada city funds to strengthen and resurface the runway, restore grade, and install new lighting on the 100 by 5000 foot north south runway.

Dead Man Identified as Guy Colbert in Pon totoc County
A man found dead near Lightning Ridge in Pon totoc County has been identified as 61 year old Guy Colbert. Sheriff's officers say he died of natural causes about four days before his discovery. Colbert, lifelong resident of the Rofs area, was the son of Walton and Louisa Brown Colbert and had six sisters and four brothers.
