Sand Sculpture Contest Captures Summer Theme on Manhattan Beach
About 30 New York City high school art students entered a Sand Sculpture contest on Manhattan Beach. They used wet sand and varied materials to create upright and angled works under the theme Salute to Summer. A New York City Board of Education sponsor supported the event with Nowema and a panel of sculptor judges awarding top entries.
