Conservancy District Progress and Watershed Fund Update
Conservancy districts move ahead in the county with WIR contributions totaling 18 475 dollars excluding Ada banks. The fund funds loans to be repaid pro rata after project completion. Sandy Creek shows 34 sites. 14 built and vegetated with two more to start this fall. Initial construction began January 1939. Upper Clear Boggy reports nine sites built and two underway with seven new signed agreements and six vegetated. Leader Middle Clear Bog RV area plans 43 structures with 59 of 138 casements completed.

Rural Boys Train In Forestry Camp Honors Top Camper
Oklahoma youths attended a five day Oklahoma Youth Forestry Camp at Beaver's Bend Park near Broken Bow. Lee Clumber reported Johnny Warren of Stillwater as top camper with 1076 points, beating Jimmy Barnacd of Oklahoma City by 20. Warren, son of Alec Warren of OSU, may pursue forestry in college. Sixty high school boys from 18 counties took part as the Oklahoma Forest Industries Committee sponsored the camp and scores reflected grades conduct and staff opinion. The Farm Bureau seeks Oklahoma’s Farm Family of the Year with a Sept. 11 deadline.

Dirt is being hauled into an 18 acre tract south of town as Adans outlines three highway front projects along 600 feet. A lot and sales office for trailers will open the corridor, followed by a trailer park and then a large marine center with a 13 foot front. A 60 foot front grocery building is planned beyond the marine center, Whittle says.
